This guide walks you through setting up and using Jellyfin on your Android TV or Amazon Fire TV.

Prerequisites#

Before you start, make sure you have:

  • An active Seedbox from My-Seedbox with Jellyfin enabled
  • The Jellyfin app installed on your Android TV or Amazon Fire TV (available on the Play Store)
  • Your credentials, available in the FTP, VPN and Jellyfin credentials section of your customer area

Step 1: First launch of the app#

When you first launch the app, you will see this welcome screen inviting you to connect to a Jellyfin server:

Step 2: Setting up your My-Seedbox server#

The screen asks for the URL of your Jellyfin server. This information is available in your My-Seedbox customer area.

Example URL:

106.mysbx.eu

Enter your server URL, then confirm by clicking Connect.

Step 3: Adding your user account#

Once the server is set up, the next screen lets you add an account. To continue, click Add an account:

The next screen offers by default to use the quick connect system, so you don't have to enter your credentials manually:

You can enter this code directly in the My-Seedbox customer area, in the Jellyfin section, to sign in without a password:

Once the code has been entered in the customer area, you will receive a confirmation message:

Method 2: Password sign-in#

If quick connect doesn't work, or you don't have access to the My-Seedbox customer area, you can sign in with your password. Click the Use a password button and fill in the required fields:

Enter your credentials:

  • Username: always starts with the prefix client_XXX
  • Password: available on your My-Seedbox dashboard

Once the fields are filled in, click Sign in.

Step 4: Accessing your library#

Congratulations! You are now signed in and can access the content of your Jellyfin library:

Browsing the library#

To view the details of a file, simply select it with your remote. In this example, we select "Big Buck Bunny":

The details page shows:

  • The movie information
  • A short preview clip
  • The play button to start the video

Playing videos#

Press the play button to start the video:

Your content is now ready to watch on your Android TV or Amazon Fire TV!
